CARLOS SOLrzano

Director

BIO-0245.jpg

Passion, perseverance, and patience have been integral to enable Carlos Solorzano to experience positive accomplishments in the careers of education, and business in the solar energy field. Carlos started as an Adjunct Professor at Cal State Fullerton, and also taught at Fullerton College. Graduate studies took Carlos to the University of Southern California, (USC) where he also was an Adjunct Professor for two years. After graduate studies, he decided to start teaching high school. Teaching at the college level for 11 years was indeed gratifying but he knew there was a need to provide help and inspire students at the high school level to further their education and have their dreams and aspirations become a reality. Carlos has taught Spanish, French, and English at Title 1 Public schools. A Title 1 school is situated in a low socioeconomic community. Over the years, he created and implemented innovative programs that served the needs of the community and recognized and celebrated the cultural differences amongst the student population. He has been privileged to have lived in the USA, Mexico, Spain, and France, and experienced, observed, and appreciates the intangible cultural differences that all peoples of the Earth possess.

His interest in self sufficiency/sustainability in the solar energy business started in 1980, as CEO of Environmental Design, Inc. The company name was the inspiration of Buckminster Fuller. Carlos has been involved for over 40 years in the design and implementation of numerous solar energy projects in the residential and commercial sectors. Numerous innovative residential passive, and active solar projects were designed, and constructed under his tutelage. His successful businesses have required efficiency, organization, and quality professional service to appropriately serve the clientele. Carlos is a Licensed California Class “B” General Contractor.

Carlos believes we inherited a planet that is in need of the basic essentials to enhance the sustainability of life for all living creatures, such as we humans, as well as life in the animal and plant kingdoms. We are fortunate to have been prepared with the emotional, social, and intellectual consciousness along with the diversified talent to assist in this endeavor. It is our moral, and ethical duty, and responsibility in the best interest of future generations to collaboratively accomplish this task. If we don’t, who will?

“It is now highly feasible to take care of everybody on Earth at a higher standard of living that anyone has ever known. It no longer has to be you or me. Selfishness is unnecessary. War is obsolete. It is a matter of converting the high technology from weaponry to livingry.”

                                                - Buckminster Fuller
